El Arte de la Luz

Alguna vez les conté que estoy fanatizada con la fotografía? Hace un poco más de un año me regalaron una cámara slr y de a poco voy aprendiendo cómo usarla, qué tipos de fotos se pueden sacar y como hacer una buena foto. Incluso formé un club de fotografía con una amiga y varios adeptos más donde nos juntamos a sacar fotos y criticar las imágenes. Pueden ver las fotos de ese club acá: SaltalaVista.

En el proceso, me estoy descubriendo como fotógrafa y me estoy dando cuenta que lo que más disfruto no es retratar un momento en la vida sino experimentar con la luz.

Les quiero mostrar algunas fotos que hice una noche jugando con luces de colores y exposiciones con la cámara. Llamo a estas fotos serie Líquida

Have I ever told you that I am totally in love with photography? I received my very first slr camera a little over a year ago and slowly, I am learning how to use it, what type of images I can come up with and how to take a good photo. I've even formed a photography club with a friend and other  enthusiasts where we get together to take pictures and critique our images. You can see the photos from that club here: SaltalaVista.

In the process, I am discovering myself as a photographer and I'm realizing that I don't really enjoy documenting moments in life but rather experimenting with light.

I want to show you some photos I took one night playing with colored lights and different camera exposures. I title this series Liquid.

Union Jack

Hola!

Hoy les quiero mostrar algo de lo que estuve haciendo ultimamente. Estoy medio copada con la bandera de Gran Bretaña, o como también se llama, la bandera Union Jack.

Tenía una bandera vintage de verdad, una tapa redonda y una base de 4 patas. 1+1+1= una mesa muy divertida.
Después, como estaba en el tema british, pinté un banquito con la misma onda y me parece que me quedó muy divertido. Estoy fascinada con mi mini banquito de madera.

Today I want to show you something I've been making lately. I am fascinated with the flag of Great Britain, or as it is also called, the Union Jack .

I had a real vintage flag, a round table top and a 4 legged bottom. 1+1+1= a really cool table.
Then, since I was with the British vibe, I painted a little stool with the same style and I think it looks really cool. I am fascinated with my little wooden stool.


I present you the God Save the Queen table and the 5 o'clock Tea stool.

Mi propio espejo Sunburst

My own Sunburst mirror

Hola!

Siempre me gustó la época de los años 50 a 70 y sobre todo, los objetos con mucho diseño. Una de las cosas que más me gusta de esta época son los espejos sunburst que hacían en Herman Miller.

He aquí mi propio espejo.

Lo hice con un espejito barato retrovisor de motos, palillos chinos, pistola de pegamento caliente y pintura en spray plateada.

Me quedó un amor!!

I have always loved the 50s, 60s and 70s era and especially the objects with great design. One of the things I like most about this time are the sunburst mirrors made by Herman Miller.

Here is my own mirror.

I made it with a cheap bike rearview mirror, chopsticks, hot glue gun and silver spray paint.

Isn't it lovely?

Cinderella shoe

Hola!

Quiero mostrarles algo nuevo que hice. Me llevó mucho tiempo y paciencia terminarlo pero lo hice! La verdad que estoy chocha con el resultado, me encanta mi zapatito!!

No es mas que un molde de cartón, papel maché, una capa de enduido, muchs capas de pintura, y los diibujos finales.

Hello!

I want to show you something new I made. It took me a lot of time and patince to finish it but I made it! The truth is that I am very happy with the end result, I love my shoe!

It's just a cardboard molde, some paper mache, some cast, several coats of paint and the final detail drawing I made with a Sharpie.
